The whole iPhone 17 range will have a new glue holding the batteries in place, according to information leaked by Apple insider Maijin Bu. Although the continuous usage of adhesive may frustrate many, new technology will make it much simpler to remove and replace these batteries without causing severe damage.
Heat guns, prybars, and physical force are no longer necessary to remove the battery because applying an electrical current to the glue will reduce adhesion. Any new battery will require a new strip of glue to hold it in place because it is a one-time effect.
Although it was limited to the iPhone 16, Apple introduced this technology earlier this year.
